| Now, in this world we have our troubles And many trials on every hand. Even friends misunderstand us Though we do the best we can. Chorus: But He didn't say it would be easy, He just said, "I'll see you through." And He never promised a Garden of Eden. But, Jesus said, "I'll be with you." Now, He's our wise and knowing Savior, And He knows what's best for us. And He will fill our life with gladness, If we'll only learn to trust. Now, some day it'll all be over, And we'll walk down streets of gold, In that Garden of Eden in Paradise, His loving face forever behold. Extra Verses: You know, sometimes we long for things Just to satisfy the greed. But, according to His great wisdom, He only promised to meet the need. Jesus knows our every burden And He'll make those burdens light. He said, "Cast your cares upon Me; I will lead you through the night." Words and Music by Marjorie Reece (c) 1986 by TJM |
